What is popularly known as molecular taxonomy, this methodology is currently attributed for redefining bacterial taxonomy that primarily relied on morphology, morphometry and biochemical tests for their classification which are time consuming and in several cases generate ambiguous results.
The test requires the microbe along with its growth medium to be provided along with information regarding its pathogenesis if any.
