DNA finger printing by RAPD
RAPD is a robust, cost effective, PCR-based technique for identifying DNA polymorphism between closely related samples. The number of random primers can be conveniently increased to improve the power of detection of DNA polymorphism that ultimately leads to differentiation studies. Further, such studies can be used for developing de novo primers that often has potential for isolate specific identification through PCR. The customer needs to supply the biological material with information regarding its source and pathogenesis if any. This will help us in determining the method of DNA extraction and also the choice of primers for fingerprinting study. The deliverables include RAPD based phylogenetic study involving population genetics analysis (depending upon the size and nature of samples). Prospective differential fragments can also be cloned and sequenced on demand.

Custom development of DNA molecular weight markers/ladders
We at geneOmbio Technologies develop customized DNA Molecular Weight Markers/ Ladders. We design a molecular weight marker suitable for your own research. The custom designed DNA markers can be used as internal STR controls or for quick sizing of PCR products with known size range. Markers/ Ladders having any number of bands can be developed. Custom made ladders would typically have all bands with similar intensity when stained on gel. Upto 10 different sized DNA fragments within 100 bp to 10 kb provided Upto 10 different sized DNA fragments within 100 bp to 10 kb provided 100 g of custom – made DNA ladder with fragments of exact size as required by the customer can be possessed.

Development of SCAR primers
Any fragment of DNA can be sequenced and characterized at the nucleotide level. This information can be used for synthesizing oligonucleotide primers for PCR. It has often been observed that such primers have diagnostic value and can be used for organism differentiation studies. At geneOmbio Technologies, we provide services for developing SCAR primers. This service is typically an adjunct to RAPD service and under this, the diagnostic fragment(s) is/are identified, sequenced and analysed using bioinformatics tools for designing of primers. The primers are latter validate through PCR.
